Phinda Game Reserve

Spectacular Wildlife Experience in Kwazulu-Natal

Offering a rich wildlife viewing experience in a spectacular setting near the KwaZulu-Natal coastline, &Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve encompasses an impressive 23,000 hectares of protected territory in South Africa.

It is a truly magnificent tapestry of landscapes, from woodland to grassland, wetland and forest, interspersed with mountain ranges, river courses, marshes and plains. The area boasts a high density of game in seven distinct habitats and, while the “Big Five” and about 400 bird species thrive here, it is renowned for its large population of endangered black rhino and the elegantly elusive cheetah.

This unique ecosystem includes a large portion of the world’s remaining rare sand forest and is situated close to the unspoiled beaches and marine reefs of the Indian Ocean. Travelers get the best of two worlds as a combination of exciting bush and beach adventures are accessible from the reserve.

This private reserve does not allow day visitors, but it does permit incredible off-road game drives! Because very few guests are on the reserve at any one time, an exclusive safari experience is guaranteed. Hosted by professionally trained rangers and Zulu trackers, guests quickly become intrepid adventurers on thrilling tailor-made safaris.

Between daily private game drives, bush walks, birding and all the additional specialist activities, there is never a dull moment.
