These general terms and conditions of business are applicable to bookings made directly with Puur Investments Pty Ltd t/a Puur Travel (herein known as “Puur Travel”)

Booking Terms and Conditions

In order to confirm our clients’ reservation, Puur Travel requires a 50% deposit payment at the time of making your booking. Failure to do so will result in your reservation automatically being cancelled. The balance of payment is due 60 days prior to travel (the commencement date of your itinerary). If you do not pay in full by the due date Puur Travel reserves the right to treat your booking as cancelled and charge you a cancellation fee in accordance with our Cancellation Policy. Bookings made within 60 days prior to travel are subject to full prepayment at the time of confirming the reservation. Additionally, bookings made within 14 days prior to travel, are subject to full payment by credit card. Bookings for the Festive Season, defined as 20 Dec- 15 Jan annually, require the balance of payment 120 days prior to travel.  Any supplier specific conditions that vary from the above will apply.

Please note that should you have been quoted in foreign currency and wish to settle payment by means of a credit card, your quotation will be converted to South African Rand prior to the transaction being processed due to foreign exchange regulations by the South African Reserve Bank. The rate of exchange on the day that the transaction is processed will be used to determine the equivalent Rand amount with any resulting foreign exchange differences or bank charges being for the client’s account. The South African Reserve Bank prohibits South African companies from taking foreign credit card payments and keeping the payment in foreign currency. The payment has to be converted to South African Rand before it is credited to the recipient.

Clients are welcome to settle payment by means of a bank transfer – in this instance the amount will be converted by your bankers on presentation of our invoice. It is the client’s responsibility to inform and instruct their bankers that the net invoice amount must equal the funds clearing into the Puur Travel’s bank account and that ALL bank charges are for the client’s account.

Flight Terms and Conditions

Please note that in the event of flights being booked and secured by Puur Travel on behalf of the client less than 30 days prior to travel, payment is required by credit card because of the time delay of securing funds to us when paying by bank transfer. Flight reservations require 100% deposit in order to confirm the booking and are 100% non-refundable. Puur Travel cannot be held liable or responsible for any delays or cancellations due to weather, air traffic control or technical delays. Any amendment to a booking within 72 hours that is not a cancellation will attract the following charges: date or route change R750 per person, time change on day of travel R250 per person. When booking flights with Puur Travel, we require the full names of passengers as printed on the passports and will not accept changes once tickets are issued. It is a security procedure which will ensure there are no discrepancies. Puur Travel accepts no responsibility for incorrect passport numbers or incorrect spelling of full names. Please ensure that you provide accurate information to your Travel Consultant.

Cancellation Policy

Our Standard Cancellation Policy: 25% of total cost is forfeited if cancelled up to 61 days prior to travel, 100% of total cost is forfeited if cancelled 60 days or less prior to travel.

Festive Season Cancellation Policy (20 Dec- 15 Jan annually): 50% of total cost is forfeited if cancelled up to 121 days prior to travel, 100% is forfeited if cancelled 120 days or less prior to travel. Any of the suppliers specific conditions that vary from the above will apply.

Groups and Meetings Incentives Conferences Events (MICE) Cancellation Policy: applicable cancellation terms will be displayed on invoice.

The re-scheduling (ie.changing dates of travel) or reduction of number of rooms or services from date of confirmation (deposit payment) of the booking will also be regarded as a cancellation and the above cancellation fees will apply.

Cancellations must be sent in writing to Puur Travel. Cancellations shall only be effective from the date of receipt of cancellation by Puur Travel. Any cancellations made, in terms of this Cancellation Policy shall be subject to bank fee deductions.

Puur Travel reserves the right to cancel any booking at its sole and absolute discretion, without prior notification in instances where this is unavoidable. However, in that case Puur Travel agrees to refund all monies already paid by the client. This shall be Puur Travel´s sole responsibility to the client and no claim for any damages, howsoever arising, shall accrue against Puur Travel.

Applicable Law

All bookings are deemed to have been concluded, maintained and controlled in the Republic of South Africa and as such, the laws of the Republic of South Africa and the jurisdiction of the South African Court govern any bookings and subsequent contracts entered into between Puur Travel and our clients.

Costs

Puur Travel quotations are based on anticipated costs and are subject to amendment. Should these anticipated costs increase due to circumstances outside the control of Puur Travel, increased costs cannot be passed onto Puur Travel and the company will not take responsibility.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend that our customers take out travel insurance. This will cover you for medical expenses, lost luggage, air fares or cancellation expenses.

Passports and children

It is the client´s sole responsibility to ensure that passports, visas, health certificates, proof of vaccinations and any other documentation required are all in order for the countries to be visited. Please not that your passport must have two consecutive side by side blank visa pages (i.e. a left and right hand page). Should your passport not comply with these requirements, you will either not be permitted to board the aircraft or risk deportation on arrival at your destination. Furthermore, please note that passengers entering many African countries (included but not limited to South Africa, Botswana and Zambia) must have passports valid for at least 6 months after the date of re-entry into their home country. Please note that there are new requirements for children travelling through South African ports of entry. A parent travelling with children, without the other parent, will need a police certified letter from the absent parent. For the latest advisory please visit the Department of Home Affairs website.

Responsibility

Puur Travel acts only as agent in regard to travel and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, war, insurrection, revolt or other civil uprising, other military action, strikes or any Act of God occurring in either the country of origin, destination or through passage, or for any reason whatsoever, or through the acts or default of any company or persons engaged in conveying or accommodating the client. They cannot accept any responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delay or changes in air schedules or other causes. All such losses or expenses will be the responsibility of the client. Puur Travel may not be held responsible for any loss or damage to the client’s luggage. The acceptance of final documents, vouchers or tickets shall be deemed to be consent to the above conditions.

PUUR TRAVEL is a business in the travel industry that markets tours in South Africa.

Customer privacy policy
PUUR TRAVEL shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). Payment options accepted
Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express credit cards or by bank transfer into the PUUR TRAVEL bank account, the details of which will be provided on request, this applies for international bank account holders only. South African bank account holders are required to pay via EFT.

Credit card acquiring and security
Credit card transactions will be acquired for PUUR TRAVEL via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for Standard Bank of South Africa. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Customer details separate from card details
Customer details will be stored by PUUR TRAVEL separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency
The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Country of domicile
This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and PUUR TRAVEL chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.

Variation
PUUR TRAVEL may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.

We reserve the right to change, modify, add to or remove from portions or the whole of these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes to these Terms and Conditions will become effective upon such changes being posted to this Website.
