Children 8 years and older are welcome at Lions Valley Lodge, and they are to be supervised by their parents at all times. This is particularly important when on game drives, in the boma or dining room, and while making use of the swimming pool and the surrounding area.
A maximum of two children in a suite is permitted – sharing with their parents on a double sleeper couch.
Should a request be made for a separate suite for older children, they will be charged at the normal adult rate.
The lodge staff reserve the right not to permit children on game drives if they feel that doing so could be to the detriment of other guests.

Accommodation

There are ten freestanding luxury suites available at Lions Valley Lodge. Each evokes the history and vibrancy of the bushveld with a specific theme to completely immersed guests in rich South African culture throughout their stay.
Paying tribute to the colourful characters and abundant wildlife that thrive here, all suites are fully equipped and boast viewing decks. Suites offer the following amenities:

Livingstone

Every aspect of this suite has been designed to create the feeling of an authentic Livingstone adventure. Boasting a luxurious king-sized bed and its own private deck with panoramic views of the breathtaking scenery that surrounds Lions Valley Lodge.

Ndebele

With a king-sized bed, this suite shares a deck with the Nguni Suite. However, there is a divider in place should you wish for complete privacy.

Nguni

A grand king-sized bed is the centerpiece of this beautiful suite that shares a deck with the Ndebele Suite. However, there is a divider in place should you wish to enjoy total privacy when absorbing the breathtaking scenery.

Romance

This suite has a lavish four-poster bed and its own private deck with boasts breathtaking panoramic views. It is the ideal honeymoon suite.

Savannah

From the artwork to the fittings, this suite is the epitome of luxury in the bush. It boasts a lavish king-sized bed and has its own private deck with panoramic views of the scenery that surrounds Lions Valley Lodge.

Safari

This suite offers a luxurious four-poster, king-sized bed and its own private deck.

Spaza

Spaza means “trading shop” and, from the lamps to the couches, every inch of the suite is immersed in South Africa’s incredible heritage. The suite features an opulent king-sized bed and has its own private deck with stunning panoramas of the surrounds.

Zebra

The suite features authentic zebra skins to fully immerse guests in the rich culture of the savannah. A luxurious king-sized bed, plus all the amenities of home – and more. It has its own private deck that boasts panoramic views of the breathtaking scenery that surrounds Lions Valley Lodge.

Facilities

The Main Lodge lends itself to gatherings – whether they be a casual dinner with friends and family, or a morning team building session. Immersed in phenomenal panoramic views of the wild, when the sunsets the African sky comes alive.
Step out onto the terrace and enjoy an evening drink either at the bar, or fireside in the boma. By day, the pool provides cool relief from the heat.
Guests can indulge in a massage in the spa studio or in the privacy of their suite. The spa menu is available at reception and services are booked after arrival at the lodge.

Dining

Guests at Lions Valley Lodge are treated to wholesome meals that make use of the freshest local ingredients. From breakfast to lunch to dinner, dining here is a culinary adventure, combining regional African cuisine with the multitude of cooking styles left behind by early explorers of this great continent. Game Drives

Both morning and late afternoon game drives are guided by an experienced game ranger, who will not only keep you informed, but entertained. The reserve is home to incredible diversity with over 40 species of game to discover, it is an unparalleled wildlife experience. Nambiti Private Game Reserve is also one of the only reserves in KwaZulu-Natal that offers you the chance to see all of the Big Five in one place.
During the drives, a variety of delectable snacks and refreshments are served.

Walking Safaris

Nature enthusiasts have the chance to see all kinds of wildlife up close in their natural surroundings. Nambiti Game Reserve is home to a fascinating array of small predators, reptiles and over 200 bird species. A highly skilled ranger leads these bush walks and safety is his number one priority.

Picnics & Bush Braais

Enjoy a bush braai (barbeque) or picnic out in the wild. Picnics and bush braais are dependent on the number of staff available, as well as the number of in-house guests.

Fishing

For fishing enthusiasts, the reserve has a number of dams offering the opportunity to catch a selection of bass and other fish. Rangers accompany guests and assist them in finding the best locations for fishing. This activity is dependent on the season and availability of the rangers. Guests are required to bring their own fishing equipment, as Lions Valley Lodge does not provide it.

Battlefield Tours

Situated in the heart of Battlefields country, where the Anglo-Zulu and Anglo-Boer wars were fought centuries ago, Lions Valley Lodge offers tours of the area where these decisive battles took place. A historian recreates those turbulent times with such skill that one can almost hear the troops and sense the trepidation.

Weddings

Wedding packages are tailored to suit individual needs, and staff will ensure that no detail will be left to chance. The bride and groom and their guests will have the Lodge at their complete disposal.
Wedding events require an exclusive booking of Lions Valley Lodge. This entails booking out all ten of our the magnificent suites for a minimum of two nights. Due to the logistics of escorting guests to the lodge, Lions Valley Lodge can only accommodate a maximum of 20 adults and 5 children.

Conferences

Lions Valley Lodge offers a unique setting for small conference groups and high-level corporate or team-building getaways. A comfortable conference room can accommodate 20 people in boardroom-style seating. The conference facility is well equipped and includes all the necessary amenities to ensure that a productive and memorable experience.
Conference delegates are offered teas, coffees and refreshments. All other conveniences, such as welcome drinks on arrival, meals and game drives, are also available.
